Do you prefer Google chrome over other browsers? Is Google chrome your primary browser and you use other browsers just because you need to log in to more than one accounts at once and you cannot have more than one instance of chrome installed with different settings and preferences. But think what if you can have as many instances of chrome as possible and can customize each of them separately. Suppose you use your office laptop for personal use also. Won’t it be good if you have two chromes installed in your laptop, one for office related work and one with personal work?

Sounds interesting, isn’t it. Well, all this is possible and that too very easily. This functionality is called Chrome Profiles and we will tell you step by step how you can do the same. Follow these steps and you will be able to create as many profiles as you need.

1. I assume you have already installed Google chrome and shortcut is present at your desktop

3. Rename this shortcut with profile name of your choice.
(In our example we have renamed it IdleBrains.)

4. Now create a directory in your file system anywhere

6. Edit target field value and add this in the end
 –user-data-dir=D:chromeProfilesidlebrains and click ok
(change D:chromeProfilesidlebrains with your newly created directory path)

7. You are all set to use your new chrome profile.
8. Repeat above steps to create as many profiles you need.
Firefox also provides profile options but you cannot run two Firefox profiles concurrently. There is no such limitation in using chrome profiles. Thus chrome has won more battle in browser wars.
So go ahead, create your chrome profiles and enhance your browsing experience.
