Google’s First Hire Departing to Join Khan Academy

We all know Larry Page and Sergey Brin, The founders of Google, but there is a person whom most of us doesn’t recognize, who has been there at Google for about 14 years and is now departing the company. The name is Craig Silverstein, Google’s first hire. Google on Thursday confirmed the news of his departure.He has plans of joining Khan Academy.

He was instrumental in the development of search and made numerous contributions to Google over the years. We wish him all the best at the Khan academy and know that he will do great things to help them promote education around the world” Google said.

Craig joined Sergey and Page when they started services at Stanford University and helped them throughout to build the company into the world’s most popular search engine.  The engineer has planned to join Salman Khan at the Khan Academy.  Guess is that he will be doing some sort of programming there. Khan Academy website says 
“The Khan Academy is an organization on a mission. We’re a not-for-profit organization with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education to anyone anywhere.” 
Well, All The Best to Khan Academy and Craig !! Trying to imagine where Khan Academy will be reaching with Craig in the team.
