IdleBrains

It’s been almost 5 weeks since we posted our last article. It was a sudden break after getting a very good response. We got queries asking why we stopped. Why no posts in long time. Well, here we are now, with all the answers and updates. We have been thinking about how to improve IdleBrains and what things should be changed. So here are the updates about revamped IdleBrains

1. Change in platform

Earlier IdleBrains was on blogger. Now we have moved to wordpress. It was a major decision for us to take. Moving forward as a professional blog it was a necessary move. WordPress gives us better personalization options. It’s much easy to maintain admin side of blog using wordpress. Apart from this, biggest motivation factor to move to wordpress was to support more guest authors. A lot of people have shown their interest in writing for IdleBrains but it was difficult to support multiple authors in blogger. Now with wordpress all those who are interested in writing for IdleBrains, can simply register here and create an account. As soon as you create your account, you can go to dashboard and write your post. Once it is approved from admin team it will be published on main site. So go ahead and register yourself to show your writing skills to a larger audience.

2. Change in Domain Extension

We started with idlebrains.in but as per suggestions by some of the senior blog owners, we have moved to idlebrains.org now. It was not an easy decision to make as we already have our user base with .in and we did not want to lose that. Another point was to keep the current bookmarks working, so that even after transfer of blog from .in to .org, all .in links work properly. Our many thanks to blogger to wordpress tutorial and plugin provided by rtCamp team which made this transition a smooth one for us.

3. Look and Feel

We have tried to keep the original look and feel as much intact as possible. From an end user’s perspective, there might not be much visible changes but things have changed a lot at back end.  We are using rtPanel from rtCamp as our base theme. We made some modifications in child theme to give it look and feel as original.

4. DoFollow Comments

Our fellow bloggers are aware of the importance of dofollow. We are really pleased to announce that IdleBrains supports do follow now in comments. So now we have both Facebook comments and default wordpress comments with dofollow to share our traffic juice with our visitors.

5. Search Engine Optimization

After writing good content it’s really important to reach to our target audience. SEO is backbone of success of any site. With wordpress we have so many tools and plugins which are helping us in SEO.

Well, so many changes on technical grounds but the team and idea behind IdleBrains are same. Please share your views and suggestions on improvement. Also suggest us what new topics you would like to read about and we will try our level best to come up with articles on those topics.

In the end I would like to give a special thanks to Anshul Dixit for his constant support and suggestions to improve IdleBrains.

Thanks Gajanan for your wishes. 🙂

I really appreciate the framework, tools and tutorials provided by rtCamp. It made my transition from blooger to wordpress quite smooth. I had been following the rtPanel forum quite closely and found out solutions of most of my issues. One or two issues I resolved on my own with my hosting provider, which I will update on forum so that if any one else is facing them, they can also resolve them.

Keep visiting and suggesting. Your feedback is much appreciated. 🙂
