Another acquisition in Social Media: Twitter acquires mobile blogging startup Posterous
Social networking giant Twitter has bought Posterous, a start-up firm in mobileblogging business at an undisclosed sum of money. Posterous launched in 2008lets people use Smartphone’s to post pictures, videos and audios and share themwith the world. The fan base of Posterous is growing widely with”lifestreaming” trend in which moments are captured throughout theday and shared in online journals.
The micro-blogging firm Twitter said that Posterous has built an innovativeproduct that makes sharing across the web and mobile devices simple. We alsohave the same goal to make sharing easy. Posterous engineers, product managersand other team members will be working in sync on key initiatives with Twitterand help make Twitter even better.
Posterous founder and CEO Sachin Agarwal said, “The opportunities in frontof Twitter are exciting. We are happy to bring our team’s work to a product thatreaches hundred and millions of users around the globe.” Healso said that Posterous Spaces will continue to work and run. The users willbe told well in advance if any changes are made to the service.
