Flash v/s HTML5
Flash v/s HTML5 debate is on for long time now and HTML5 is running much ahead in the race as we all know. Adobe has stopped support for Flash for mobile devices few months back. The main reason behind this was Apple’s exclusion of flash in iOS. HTML5 has been the favorite of technology giants like Apple and Google. Steve Jobs stated very aggressive comments against flash in his open letter. Well, I won’t go into the technical details of this ongoing battle. Personally I also prefer development using HTML5 instead of flash but one cannot simply wipe out flash.
I love both technology and cars but when both are combined the experience has to be mind boggling. So in this post we will take a look at two sites which are the pioneering examples of website designing using flash and html5. For a car lover Mercedes and Volkswagen are always in the hotlist but what if I say that a web designer also loves these two equally. Sounds confusing?? Well if you have seen these two stunning websites “Mercedes – A – to – S” and “Volkswagen Beetle” you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t seen them yet then you have missed something incredible. These 2 car manufacturers are creating history with their car designs but same feat is achieved by their web designers as well.
Mercedes - Flash
Mercedes – A – to – S, one among the best examples of what could be achieved if technology and creativity are fused together. All features of Mercedes from A-Class to S-Class like A-Pillar, Blindfold, and Charcoal to Recyclable and Sound are shown in the most memorable web experience. If I say that this website is as good as the Mercedes car design then it won’t be a lie. Visit the site and experience every feature by yourself.

Well, Volkswagen Beetle, the hottest model from the German genius, has nothing less than Mercedes to offer in any aspect. Since Mercedes came up with a brilliance of flash, Volkswagen took a step ahead and came up with a unique user experience using HTML5. One can simply see the life cycle of Beetle from 1941 till today with scroll of mouse. You can feel the joy of riding a beetle while going through this site. You might need a very fast internet connection to feel the real flow of these sites.

These 2 are among the classic examples of where web designing is heading towards now. It’s no more a developer’s kingdom. It’s an artist’s canvas. I don’t feel like calling these people either developer or designer. They are artists at heart and magicians at work. Let’s look forward to what’s more is be hidden in this magical hat of internet.
